The pure vacuum salt of Suprasel® is the perfect carrier of diverse types of additives, both health and functional ingredients.
Regular
Pure vacuum salts without any functional or health additive (eg. iodine / nitrite / nitrate).
Iodine
Iodine is a health ingredient, which prevents goitre. It is applied in several food products, such as bakery and meat. Salt is the perfect carrier of iodine. In some countries legislation requires the addition of iodine in food products. Suprasel® adds iodine to salt into a very homogeneous mixture that doesn’t separate.

Nitrite
Nitrite is a functional ingredient, only used for meat applications. Salt is the most recognized carrier of nitrite and therefore the safest way of adding the legal required amount of nitrite in meat recipes. Suprasel® salt with nitrite slows down the oxidation of fats, thus acting as a shelf life enhancer and safety agent. It also makes meat more resistant to light and to higher temperatures. Salt with nitrite enhances the flavor and texture of meat products and stabilizes its color. Studies show that customers relate the color of the meat to the freshness of the product.
Iodine & Nitrite
Salt with both iodine and nitrite as an additive has positive effects on health and functional characteristics of meat and meat products. Suprasel® offers salt with various levels both iodine and nitrite for the meat industry.
Nitrite & Nitrate
(for bacon curing application)
Suprasel® salt is also available for bacon curing applications - for processed meat only. This is a special mixture of nitrite and nitrate for the specific taste and texture of bacon.
